Artemisa Gallery is pleased to present "Desde las Raíces al viento" from Lujan Candria at the Consulate General of Argentina in New York.
For an extended period Lujan Candria's work has focused on capturing unique and ephemeral moments in time. Upon emigrating, she shifted her focus to the ever-changing and fluid nature of memories—how they blur, transform, and become elusive within the recesses of the mind.
Her work considers memory as a record of perceptions, as narrative, as witness of what we have left behind.
In this context, She push the boundaries of traditional photography by actively manipulating photographic images. She juxtapose, multiply, fragment, and merge them to craft poetic visual compositions. The sharper images intermingle with the more diffuse ones, often fading into near imperceptibility or transforming into simple, solid colors. This process mirrors the way many of our own memories blur over time and then come back to us as incomplete narratives.
